Workshop on Financial Literacy and Career Opportunities

The Management Department, Campus 2 of Lloyd Group of Institutions organised a two-day workshop on “Financial Literacy and Career Opportunity” for BBA and B. Com second and final-year students on October 12th and 13th, 2023. The workshop was held in collaboration with SEBI and NISM, the leading regulators and educators of the securities market in India.

The guest speaker of the workshop was Mr Chandresh Gupta, a corporate trainer of SEBI and NISM, who has over 20 years of work experience and more than 25 certification courses in the field of finance and securities market. Mr Gupta facilitated the workshop using various pedagogical tools such as PowerPoint presentations, videos, quizzes, games, simulations, etc. to engage the students and make the learning process fun and effective.

The workshop covered various aspects of the finance and security market, such as budgeting, savings, investments, loans, credit management, financial products and services, financial markets and regulations, and career opportunities. The workshop also provided the students with the opportunity to take the certification courses of NISM, NCFM, and BCFM online at a discounted rate. These courses are designed to test the practical knowledge and skills required to operate in the financial markets.

The workshop was attended by over 150 students from BBA and B. Com second and final-year batches. The workshop received positive feedback from the participants, who rated it highly on various parameters such as relevance, content, delivery, interaction, and learning outcomes.

Dr Shilpi Sarna, the HOD of the Undergraduate Programs, was present on both days of the workshop to welcome and motivate the students. She said that the workshop was a valuable learning experience for the students, who gained insights and practical exposure to finance and the securities market. She also thanked Mr Gupta, SEBI and NISM, and Dr Pradeep Bhardwaj Professor, Management Department for their contribution to the quality and effectiveness of the event.

The workshop was a successful event that achieved its objectives of enhancing the financial literacy and career opportunities of the students. The workshop also created a platform for future collaboration between Lloyd Institute and SEBI and NISM for conducting more such workshops in the future.
